二、论文摘要:Nursing has traditionally been regarded as a female-dominated profession, and gender stereotypes surrounding male nurses remain a critical issue within the field. However, little is known about the mechanism through which stereotypes affect patient-oriented organizational citizenship (POCBs). This study aimed to examine the mediating effect of emotional exhaustion and the moderating effect of resilience in this context. A model of these effects was tested by reference to 394 male nurses in China. Participants were asked to report their basic information, perceived stereotypes, and resilience at Time 1. One week later, at Time 2, each participant was asked to report their emotional exhaustion and POCBs. The results showed that perceived stereotypes can negatively influence POCBs. Perceived stereotypes can also positively impact emotional exhaustion, which in turn negatively impacts POCBs. In addition, a mediation analysis indicated that emotional exhaustion mediates the association between perceived stereotypes and POCBs. A moderation analysis further revealed that the link between perceived stereotypes and emotional exhaustion is less pronounced in male nurses with higher resilience. These results emphasize the need to explore the mechanisms and conditions under which perceived stereotypes impact POCBs. In addition, this study’s insights enhance our understanding of the negative impacts of stereotypes on male nurses and enable us to develop ways of reducing those impacts.
